Graduation

Today was my one month post-op visit with Dr. Godin.  He says all looks perfect in my nose and I do not need to return to him unless I have any future issues.

How am I feeling one month later?  The left side still feels a bit more congested than the right but overall I can breathe freely through both nostrils.  I continue to rinse my nose twice daily; the crusting is mostly gone and nothing horrid comes out anymore.  There is still some tenderness in my nose, particularly around the septum; Dr. Godin tells me it takes 6-8 weeks for the septum to heal up completely so I am not worried about this.  It is not bothersome enough to take any Tylenol most days, although on rainy days it aches a little more.  I have regained most of the feeling in my front teeth.

In the past 2 weeks I have slowly returned to working out, although I am not yet back up to full weights or full cardio heartrate.  I suspect over the next week or 2 I will be back to where I was pre-surgery.  (And provided my budget works out, I expect to be back at kickboxing by January at the latest.)

One odd thing:  When I had laparoscopic surgery 9 years ago, one thing I never thought about was that my belly button would be a different shape afterward.  It's not a big deal, it's not anything anyone would notice, but *I* know it is different.  After this recent surgery I noticed that my left nostril is slightly different inside than it was.  Again, this isn't anything anyone looking at me would notice and it does not make any difference in my ability to breathe or in my appearance, but *I* know it is different.
